Interpuplets and Fast Cash
I was first introduced to poker by my friend Rica. We were in college in Colorado and were not playing serious cards. We were just playing for fun and for two of us it was our way of getting out of the rat race. We would go out and hit the casinos and have a few drinks, play some poker, and hit the road. Rica was from New York and had already been introduced to the game of poker by a teacher that took her to one of the first poker rooms in Phoenix.
While we were driving along, we would talk about the hands we had played and why we had done so well or why we had done so poorly. It was during this time that Rica became a poker player. She was good and started to understand the game well. But she was still some time away from having a big income that could make both of us mortals.
One day we sat in the car, we were listening to sports radio, and noticed a promo for a local poker tournament. We were investigating various places to get tickets and took notice of this tournament that was going on in Tuscaloosa. It was an elimination challenge for the pros. We figured that if we could just get into the tourney, we could get a free entry into a larger tournament that they were holding. We told ourselves that if we could just get into the tourney, we would win money and also have a chance to get into a larger invitational tournament.
We got into the Tuscaloosa poker tournament in 1998, just before the poker boom really took place. This was before online poker and you could not play at a large casino like we could online. Instead, you could play at a satellite poker tournament that was going to pay out a couple hundred dollars. This was about the same time that Chris Moneymaker, a person that had never really played the game of poker before, won eleven million dollars in the Main Event of the World Series of Poker.
Now, if you Add up all of the money won by Chris Moneymaker and the buy in for the amateur money tournament, you will get to the million dollar purse. In fact, when this event was being held, the estimated prize pool was a hundred and fifty thousand dollars. That was late 2000 and early 2001, the boom in online kartupoker was in full swing, so you can see how much money was flowing in. Now, people were winning the World Series of Poker online and you could not get better odds than that.
Now, many people are out there reading books and articles about poker to learn the game. Many are hoping to improve their game while others are just riding on the popularity of the game. In my opinion, the best way to learn poker is to simply find a game of your own and play for free. However, there are a couple of drawbacks to playing in play money games. First, if you are new to the game, you would want to practice your skills. Second, you might want to practice your tournament skills while you are in play money games.
There are certainly many different games that you can play online. For example, you can play hold em, Texas hold em, Omaha, or any other game that you choose. You do not have to play for real money to enjoy the games. One of the reasons that playing online poker is so popular is that you do not have to worry about losing a dime. In fact, you can have fun without having to worry about losing a penny.
If you play poker online, you still have the opportunity to improve your skills as you saw in the free Texas hold em games that you can access. Here, you will not worry whether your skills are good enough for you to win or not. You can play for free and improve your skills and therefore your chances of winning when you are playing for real money.
If you want to try your hand at playing poker online, you should first know the kinds of poker that you want to play. You can play various versions of poker, such as 5-card stud or the modern tournament versions. You can play at the beginning, middle or end of any length of time that you prefer.
Play poker online also presents you with a wide array of stakes to choose from. You can choose from low stakes, high stakes or customizable poker tables. If you are into online poker tournaments, you can play at very low limits or very high limits.
Furthermore, if you play poker online, you have a lot of playing options. You can choose from Omaha Poker tournaments, Texas Hold em, Seven Card Stud, and many more. If you are good enough, you can play multi-table tournaments or single table tournaments. You can even play 2 to 4 poker tournaments at the same time if you want to.
